I provide environmental fate modelling assessments and related consultancy.
BACKGROUND/CAREER HISTORY
I gained experience as research scientist at James Hutton Institute (formerly Macaulay), Cranfield University, University of York, and FERA (formerly Central Science Laboratory) on projects for BBSRC, DEFRA, CRD and EFSA. Background in soil chemistry, laboratory studies as well as modelling.
QUALIFICATIONS
MSc in Environmental Science and Soil Quality from Wageningen University. PhD in Modelling Solute Transport in Soil - Wageningen University (research performed at Macaulay Institute, Aberdeen).
HOBBIES/INTERESTS
I like gardening and looking after the birds, hedgehogs and other wildlife that visit our garden.
SPECIFIC EXPERTISE
Modelling chemical behavior in soil, such as diffusion and leaching, aged sorption, degradation kinetics. Good understanding of the regulatory models and procedures for chemical risk assessment. Developed the Acre tool for automated FOCUS modelling.
