My Role

My role at Enviresearch involves data gap analysis reports, technical equivalence reviews and consumer risk assessments for Plant Protection Products, Biocidal product registration and REACH dossiers.

Background/Career History

I worked for nearly 9 years as a Product Registration Specialist at a leading paint and protective coatings company, where I specialised in biocidal paint products. Roles included coordinating the preparation and compiling of technical dossiers as well as providing risk assessment expertise and developing scientific justifications. I have experience using human risk assessment exposure models and environmental risk assessment methodology to assess exposure and ensure safe use.

Qualifications 

I have a PhD in Marine Biology and Surface Chemistry from Newcastle University, an MSc in Marine Environmental Protection from the University of Wales, Bangor and a BSc in Marine biology with Oceanography from the University of Southampton.

Hobbies/Interests

When I’m not at work, I am an active participant at Newcastle East WI and currently hold a committee position. I am a BSAC Sports Diver and have enjoyed diving in both the UK and abroad.

Specific Expertise

The Biocidal Product Regulation, including notifications and registrations of biocides under transitional measures, data gap analysis, Human health risk assessments and environmental risk assessments for biocides.
