We're recruiting within our Environmental team

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Environmental Fate Specialist / Modeller to take on a senior role in a team of Environmental Fate technical experts.

The core responsibility of this role is the delivery of challenging technical work with an emphasis on developing new and novel data-driven approaches to the assessment of fate and behaviour of chemicals in the environment. You will be actively encouraged to develop your skills and expertise in the area of Environmental Fate and Behaviour by attending conferences, working groups and the writing and publication of scientific papers. Through these activities, you will play a key role in the company’s work of developing innovative approaches to environmental fate assessment of chemicals, enhancing both your own and the company’s reputation. 

Your role will focus on developing and applying innovative approaches to assess the fate and behaviour of pesticides in the environment to deliver active substance approvals and product authorisations across the European Union and in Great Britain. You will deliver a range of technical work including, but not limited to:

  • Higher tier/advance environmental fate risk assessments
  • Bespoke risk assessment tools
  • Design and monitor higher tier fate/exposure studies
  • Development and implementation of predictive exposure modelling, including manipulation of model parameters
  • Aged sorption and kinetics
  • Commission, monitor, coordinate and interpret experimental studies
  • Prepare technical reports and regulatory registration dossiers in compliance with national / international guidance and regulatory requirements

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of scientists and regulatory specialists including other internationally recognised environmental fate experts, and support the career development of junior team members. You will deliver challenging commercial projects for industry stakeholders and have opportunities to contribute to environmental science R&D projects performed on behalf of governmental bodies and related organisations. The ability to ‘think outside the box’ and deliver innovative solutions to nuanced risk assessment issues is essential to succeed in this role.
