Christina is an ecotoxicologist and marine scientist by training and over an almost 20 year period has worked in industry (Shell Chemicals, UK) academia (School of Marine Science & Technology, University of Newcastle upon Tyne, UK), environmental consultancy (Enviresearch Ltd, UK) and on the staff of the National Chemicals Inspectorate of Sweden (KEMI). Christina’s fields of expertise include ecotoxicology/environmental toxicology, endocrine disruption and environmental risk assessment. She has published a number of peer reviewed scientific papers in the field of endocrine disrupting chemicals and acts as consultant to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra, UK) on several of their work programmes including endocrine disrupters and hazardous chemicals. She also acts as consultant to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) on the Test Guidelines Programme on Endocrine Disrupter Testing and Assessment. As Head of Risk Assessment at Enviresearch Ltd, Christina’s role is to lead  the Risk Assessment team. This role is focused on providing expert advice to clients and performing i) environmental hazard and risk assessments (and in particular ecotoxicological assessments) covering the risk to all ecosystem, and ii) human health hazard and risk assessment that are required for all dossier submissions under the Council Directive 91/414/EEC and Regulation 1107/2009 on Plant Protection Products, Directive 98/8/EC on Biocidal Products and Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 (REACH) on general chemicals.
