Expensive test data can be worthless without a thorough understanding of risk assessment procedures. Our risk assessment are based on two guiding principles: we make the best use of your toxicity data and we make the most appropriate assessment of exposure. Risk assessment is carried out using a tiered approach. If the first ter risk assessment fails, Enviresearch Ltd has the skills and experience to carry out higher tier refinements.
Examples of the models that we use in the exposure assessment as part of the risk assessment includes:
- FOCUS ground water
- FOCUS surface water
- SWAN (higher tier surface water)
- MACRO 5 and WEBFRAM (probabilistic higher tier)
- HardSPEC (Surface water and ground water)
- ModelMaker (kintetics of transformation)
- EUSES & ECETOC TRA (risk to human and the environment)
- EASE (occupational exposure)
- Bespoke models specific to clients
Understanding the kinetics of chemical transformation is crucial in order to predict the environmental fate of chemicals. Parameters describing transformation rates are a requirement by regulatory authorities for use in models to predict environmental concentrations of chemicals. These predictions support the environmental and human health risk assessments needed for the registration. Using equations representing transformation processes accepted by regulatory agencies, Enviresearch Ltd is able to derive rate parameters from laboratory or field data. Meet the Staff
