nanotechnology and the environment
advancing the safe application of nanoscience

Nanotechnology state of the art
Current opinion is that the impact of nanoscience on society will be similar in magnitude to that of the industrial and computer revolutions. Whilst the potential societal benefits of this technology must be realised it is also imperative to ensure its safe application.

Nanotechnology Regulation
Currently there are not any specific mandates regulating nanomaterials in Europe although this is likely to change in the near future. Enviresearch are actively monitoring this situation as well as contributing to understanding in this area. Enviresearch is positioning itself to offer Nanotechnology based risk assessments the moment that the regulation is in place.

Enviresearch is committed to promoting the public opinion of nanotechnology and ensuring the safety of nanomaterials - especially with regard to the environment. We encourage manufacturers of nanomaterials to contact us about future regulation with a view to conducting reregulation risk assessments. Those with an interest in the environmental effects of nanotechnologies are also invited to contact us about collaboration on research projects.
